Boe's and My's

Nope! Those are not typo's in the title. That is how Chloe says toes and bye. You can tell she is saying toes because she points to them and when she is saying bye, she is also doing her cute princess wave.

Chloe's vocabulary has seemed to explode overnight! She is up to 13 words and 1 sentence. I thought you might want to know what they are, so here is the ever expanding list:
  • Mom
  • Dad
  • Drake
  • Hi
  • Bye (my)
  • Wow
  • Toes (boes)
  • Whoa
  • Eye
  • Uh-Oh
  • Mine
  • No
  • What's That?
  • and possibly Grandma

Our garden is doing really well right now, well except for the tomatoes. I put some miracle grow on them and hope that helps. All but the peppers, potatoes, and butternut squash are up. At least as of Saturday afternoon.

Sometimes, you just don't want to know...

but it is really fun to come up with ideas about what they really are doing...
"Drake, I don't know what you are doing, but I want in!"

"Hmm. Do I have enough time before Mommy comes back to climb the tree?"

"Come on Chloe, Mommy's not watching."

"Too Infinity and Beyond!"

And sometimes, you KNOW what they have been up too:)

Paper Starbursts

These are the ones that I said I was going to make here. They turned out great! I used a clear tape instead of the glue dots, because I don't have any. Once the template is made, you can whip these up really fast. I used paper I had on hand, so it is a good thing that the color scheme includes white. Double sided paper would be best, but I was not thinking about that at the time.

Pinterest

I now use Pinterest instead of bookmarking things. So if you want some inspiration, check out my boards as well as all the others out there. You need an invite to join, so if you want to join, let me know and I will figure out how to send you one. Otherwise, there is a 6 month wait, I think.

***Update: I know how to send invites. I just need your email address (if I don't already have it).***

Chloe says to join. It is much easier to see a picture of what you want to make than just words in a bookmark.

We have weird kids...

They went under and around Lot's legs for about 10 minutes. Again, there is reaffirmation that kids don't need actual toys. Sticks, paper towel tubes, boxes, baby food jars, water, dirt, tupperware drawers, a full box of tissues, a full roll of toilet paper, scraps of fabric, feathers, and bugs make perfectly good things to play with. They never play with the toys they have anyway.

Oh, and couch cushions. Guess who just found out what fun it is to take the cushions off and then jump on them?

Not the tupperware drawer, but still just as entertaining.

Patriotic Decor *Updated with link

I wanted to show you what I have made, and am going to make for the 4th of July.

I found these yesterday at Funky Vintage Lovely. They look really easy and fun to make. It also helps that I have several 12x12 patriotic sheets of paper that I will probably never use.

I made 3 of these wreaths last year and gave one to my Mom. I decided that I needed another wreath form more than I needed 2 almost identical wreaths. I took all the circles off one wreath and really filled out the other.
Sometime last week, I saw these on Pick Your Plum. They are firecrackers, if you can't tell:) I can't remember how much they were, but I really liked them and decided that with Lot's help. I could make them for free. I had everything on hand: a long square board (that Lot cut into 9", 7", and 5" lengths), paint, ribbon, scrap fabric, cardboard, paper, and a sealer. I sanded the cut boards until my hands were numb and then gave them 2 coats of paint and then sealed them. Lot drilled a small hole in the top if each firecracker and I cut 3 pieces of ribbon and used the pick from my cricut to get them into the holes. (Chloe hasn't played with them yet, but when she does, she will be able to easily pull the ribbons out) I ripped red and white fabric and tied those on. The star is 5 or 6 layers of cardboard (from a cereal box) glued together. I cut out the star from paper (obviously) and glued that on and then sanded and distressed the edges. I also lightly sanded the top of the paper. Last, I stuck the star in the middle and my firecrackers now have made a home on the entertainment center.
