It seems that I really do need to open this shop because I keep having all kinds of setbacks, big and little. This latest setback is not a small one either.
On Tuesday, we went ice blocking with some friends. I was not planning to go down more than once. Countless times down, several with a little girl in my lap and heaving 2 blocks up the hill later, and my back is hurting pretty bad. I think it is just pulled muscles because over the counter pain medications don't even touch the pain.
To make it worse, our shed is done (yay!!!), so we have been cleaning out our/my sewing, craft, storage, tool room to make room for Chloe to have her own room. With all of the moving and pushing things, my back did not like that.
I woke up this morning and it still hurt, but not too bad. Then I grabbed a load of clothes to wash because I am yet again all out of pants (seems to happen quite a bit with the messy little hands we have running around our house). Anyway, I about cries because it hurt so bad, so no more laundry for me for a while:)
Because of my back hurting, I am not able to do much of anything for long, so while I am still planning on opening the shop on the 13th, there will not be as many things for sale at the beginning as I had originally planned.
It has been a headache trying to figure out all of the logistics for this little hair brained idea of mine, but we know that it is something that I need to do and I just gotta say, Satan must not like crafts:)

New kidney time!
Well, not quite yet. Lot has now lost enough weight to be bumped up to stage 1 status instead of 7. Once the transplant center receives the information, Lot will be eligible for a cadaveric donor kidney. Believe me, once that happens, I will shout from the roof and everyone will know about that.
I guess we have reached the point where we need to now seriously consider our options on housing while in Utah for a month. It may be less than that, but I think it would be wise to plan on a month and if it is less time, great!
Now we are in a different waiting game. If we get the call we have to drop everything and get our butts to Utah pronto. I just hope that is not in the middle of the night. Lot would have to go down by himself and I would follow the next morning after the kids have been taken care of. It is kinds scary but a happy scary. Kinda like when, for the ladies, you go into labor and you know it is going to painful and possibly long, but in the end, you have a sweet little addition to your family.
We continue to pray that everything will work out and that we can have patience with the timing and each other. In the meantime, we have a hard time singing and listening to songs because there seems to be songs and verses from songs that just seem to jump out at us and be that certain thing that we needed to hear. Every Sunday, and I mean every Sunday, there is at least one song that has something in it that says to hold on, things will work out or that our burdens will be lighter or that there are people just waiting to help out.
Some days continue to be much harder that others. It seems that the quote of the past 2 years has been
Well, not this version, but we are a Star Wars family (and there is not a Green Lantern version), so this is the one that I picked. As annoying as this saying has gotten, it is true. It is easier to be happy. Our lives flow much smoother when we are calm and happy. There are days when calm and happy is the exact opposite of the atmosphere in our home, but we try to do better and that is all that we can do.
So, on that note, let's hope that when we are needed in Utah my house is not a disaster zone:)

Shop Name!
By a large margin, the name of my crafting shop is.....
Chloe's Closet!
Keiza, you are the proud owner of bragging rights for coming up with the name. As another reward, you will be be able to pick anything you like when I open on September 13th.
I will be busy making things and getting a site set up, so don't expect too much from me on this blog. Not that I blog on a regular basis anyway right?

Good Things to Come
At least, I hope there are good things to come. Since May, when Lot's employer decided to close the business, we have been praying on what to do about employment. Does Lot go back to work? Do I? Where? Just a ton of questions about it all. And any employment that is found, one or the other of us would have to possibly quit when the transplant happens. We will be in Utah for 2-4 (or more) weeks and then the rehabilitation afterwards at home. I will be the primary caregiver and Lot will not have the energy and stamina required to work. And it is because of all of the unknowns, and because it is the only thing that we are not confused about, that I have decided to open a shop where I can sell things that I have made. This is something that I can do while in Utah and during down time at home.
There is just one glaring problem, no name. I am at a complete blank for a good name for this shop, so I put it to my friends on Facebook, and now I have 8 options for a name. Since I am having a hard time narrowing it down to even 3, I made a poll for all of you to vote on your favorite name. Lot and I will also have a vote and we may or may not decide on a different name. At any rate, here is the poll, you may vote for more than one and once a day. I will close the poll sometime on Wednesday the 21st and then have a logo made for the shop. Once than happens, I will reveal the winning name and the person that came up with that name, will get to choose something from the shop once it is open. I am shooting for Friday, September 13th. It may be Friday the 13th, but let's hope that it is a lucky day for us.

Good Eats
So, the other day, we had Hawaiian Haystacks on the menu. The store bought cream of chicken soup has an outrageous amount of salt in it, so we do not have any in the house, nor would I have bought any just for this. I have found a few recipes to make your own and one was completely disgusting! The other one, which is easier and you can double or triple it so easily, was awesome!
It is a dry mix that you can keep in a container to use when you need it. I have used it for the haystacks and it is also currently being used with a ranch packet and pork chops in the crock pot for dinner tonight.
I made a cute little page for it, if you want to print it off (right click and save the image to your computer). I made it to put on the container that my mix is in so that I don't have to find the recipe when I need to make more. I am lazy like that:)
In case you want it, here is the link to the pork chop recipe:
